Up and Coming: Moda Does it Again!

I was just thumbing... or clicking... around today and I found myself at the Moda website where I inevitably end up checking out their new fabrics.  Here are four that I really fell for that will be coming out in the next several months:
Salt Air:  Check out the fun, bright colors but they still have that soothing feel to them.  Love these!

Oh Deer:  Who doesn't love little woodland critters?  I just love the simple, amazing pattern that these fabrics have.  Love MoMo's designs!

Ladies Stitching Club: Oliver and S does it again!  I can't wait to find these beauties in person!  These would be so beautiful with some easy sewing projects!

And finally, in case you were ready for Christmas again...
Blitzen:  Brought to you by the amazing Basic Grey, these fabrics are sure to be pleasers.  Beautiful!  I could sew lots of stockings with these.

So there you go.  A few lines to look forward to and get you in the mood for sewing!

Yellow Accents...

I have a story for you all.  About 2 months ago, my husbands family decided to have a mini family vacation over Presidents' Day.

Not long after, I got an email from my amazing sister-in-law, Dana, who also happens to be a fantastic photographer.   Dana decided we really should do a family picture while we were all together.  She had hunted down 7 different "color palettes" to choose from.  After lots of emails and discussion (we take our pictures seriously!), we finally decided on greens/blues/browns with mustard yellow accents.
Yellow accents!?  I didn't have any of those, so I went shopping.  After finding out that it was $20 for a cute yellow hat, I decided to get my creative genius out of cold storage!
I found this really nasty mustard yellow tank top on clearance (I wonder why) for $1.50.  Then I went to work.  Here's what we ended up with:

Some Simple Hair Clips

A Triple Braided Headband

And Simple Headband

I was pretty happy with the results.  And the final picture turned out really nice:

And there you go... mustard yellow accessories for $1.50!  Gotta love it!

Pattern Pick: Little Lads Vest

I am not only in love with Anthea's Little Lads Vest Pattern, but I am in love with this sweet little lad in this photo.  Is he adorable or what?
Here is what Anthea says about this one:
The little lads vest is a super stylish reversible vest that can be dressed up or down.  Perfect for weddings or other special occasions or simply team it with a polo shirt and jeans for a more casual look.  Whatever the occasion this trendy vest is sure to make your little lad look very dapper and handsome.
So true.  So with Easter coming up (I know because all the Easter stuff appeared in my grocery store yesterday!), just think how adorable it would be to make this sweet vest to match the Easter dress you are making for your girl!  So very adorable. Do you think my 11-year old would wear a vest?

Pattern Pick: Picnic in the Park with Sweet Jane

I can't say enough about the creative boost I get every time I look at Sue's quilts!  Today I'd like to feature one called Picnic in the Park.  And here it is!

It's kind of a handy pattern in that it's designed for those Jelly Rolls, Layer Cakes or Fat Quarters.

I love the alternating rectangles that add a bit of the unexpected tho this lovely quilt design.

It's a quick and easy quilt with that modern flair.  Bring it on.  And thank you Sue, for the inspiration!!

Pattern Pick: MOD Rectangles

I just love this quilt!!  I go in "quilting phases" and lately, I am in love with the modern, simple look for quilts.  Modern quilt patterns just make my heart melt and this MOD Rectangles quilt fits the bill perfectly!

This is a super easy quilt to make.  It would be a fantastic project for a beginner.  I like to use strip quilting to speed up the process and I teach all about that in the pattern. I love the modern look and the bold pattern in this quilt and you will too! This is an easy quilt and my patterns includes lots of diagrams to make it as simple as possible.  Happy Sewing!

Pattern Pick: Inwood Gardern by Little Louise Designs

I just launched this website about 3 weeks ago and I have already so very blessed to meet some wonderful pattern designers already.  I think that is one of the major motivators for me!  These sweet designers have entrusted All Those Patterns with their original designs, and I don't want to do anything at all to let them down.

One of these sweet gals is Jude Spero from Little Louise Designs.  This long-time quilter out of New York, has such beautiful PDF Quilt Patterns!  Today I wanted to highlight one that I really admire called Inwood Garden.  It's a super easy quilt pattern and uses one jellyroll which can really help out if you are a beginner!

Is this beautiful or what?  I love the modern, simple design!  It's a quilt I could cuddle up in and feel right at home.  Thank you, thank you, Jude for sharing Inwood Garden with us!

Pattern Pick: Ruffles and Rosettes Handbag

Two of my favorite things in one pattern!!  Say hello to the Ruffles and Rosettes Handbag.  With Spring right around the corner (at least in my dreams...) I thought this would be a fun pattern to highlight today.  Something so springy about these fun handbags with funky, fun prints!

I have made several of these cute bags and I have to say that it's a fun, easy pattern and the very best part is when it all comes together.  There's a lot of room for creativity, too.  If you don't want a rosette, you can add a flower... or nothing at all.  I even had a customer make this entire bag out of wool and it was super adorable!

So, feel free to head on over and check out the Ruffles and Rosettes Handbag or another one of our fun bags!  Hope you all have a great week!!
